The paper deals with the homogenization problem for a nonlinear parabolic equation \[ b\,u_t - \text{div}\left (a(u,\nabla u)\right )=f(u) \] with the initial condition \(u| _{t=0}=u_0\) and the mixed Dirichlet \(u=0\) and Newton \(a(u,\nabla u)n=g(u)\) boundary conditions. In the so-called periodic problem besides the indicated dependence on \(u\), the functions \(b,a,f,g\) depend even on \(x\) and \(x/\varepsilon \) being periodic in the latter variable \(x/\varepsilon \), e.\,g.\ \(a\equiv a(x,x/\varepsilon ,u,\nabla u)\). Using a generalized two-scale convergence technique the corresponding limit ``two-scale homogenized problem'' is derived. Existence of the solutions to both periodic and homogenized problem is proved by means of Rothe functions and two-scale convergence technique adapted to the problem.
