Mixed basic subgroups. (Q852467)

The author defines basic subgroup of a mixed Abelian group that generalizes the definition of basic subgroup of a torsion group. He demonstrates that such basic subgroups have properties useful for structure theorems. The author shows however that one of the fundamental properties of basic subgroups of a torsion group fails in the mixed case, namely not all basic subgroups are isomorphic.
