On interpolation and integration in finite-dimensional spaces of bounded functions (Q855026)

Given \(n\) bounded functions defined on a set \(S\), it is proved that there exists a numerically stable interpolation formula based on \(n\) nodes in \(S\) that is exact on all linear combinations of these functions. The paper also provides the corresponding numerically stable quadrature, as well as a stronger result on the numerical stability of the interpolation scheme under the additional assumption that there exists a measure with respect to which the \(n\) functions are orthonormal.
