The authors prove the existence of solutions in a given ``solution tube'' for the second-order differential inclusion \[ x''(t)\in B(x(t))+ f(t, x(t), x'(t)),\quad t\in [0,1] \] in \(\mathbb{R}^N\), where \(B\) is a multivalued maximal monotone operator and \(f\) is an \(L_2\)-Carathéodory function, subject to periodic boundary conditions \[ x(0)= x(1),\quad x'(0)= x'(1) \] or Sturm-Liouville boundary conditions \[ A_0x(0)- \beta_0 x'(0)= \theta_0,\quad A_1 x(1)+ \beta_1 x'(1)= \theta_1. \] They cite known results for the case in which \(B= 0\) and give motivation for including that term. This problem requires to extend the notion of solution tube to differential inclusions. This was originally defined in [\textit{M. Frigon}, Topol. Methods Nonlinear Anal. 1, No. 2, 259--274 (1993; Zbl 0790.34022)] to generalize the idea of upper and lower solutions for second-order differential equations to systems of differential equations. The theorems here generalize the results in [\textit{N. Halidias} and \textit{N. S. Papageorgiou}, Aequationes Math. 59, No. 1--2, 93--107 (2000; Zbl 0947.34009)] for certain cases. The proofs make use of properties of maximal monotone operators and Schauder degree theory.
