The Noether number of a representation is the largest degree of an element in a minimal homogeneous generating set for the corresponding ring of invariants. The authors of this paper prove the following main result: Let \(W\) be a reduced finite dimensional \( \mathbb{F} \mathbb{Z}/p\)-module where \(p\) is a prime integer, and suppose that \(W = \bigoplus ^{k}_{i=1}W_i\), then the Noether number of \(W\) is bounded above by \(k(p - 1) + p - 2\). As a consequence they prove the ``\(2p - 3\) conjecture''.
