Take \(f\in \mathbb {C}[x,y]\) and a non-zero linear form \(l \in \mathbb {C}[x,y]\). The polar curve of the affine curve \(C:= \{f=0\}\) with respect to the line \(l=0\) is the singular locus of the map \((f,l): \mathbb {C}^2 \to \mathbb {C}^2\). Here the author considers two resolutions at infinity of \(C\), an intermediate one \(\Pi\) and a total one \(\Pi _{\text{tot}}\). For these resolution he studies the intersection of the strict transform of the polar curve with the counterimage of divisors at infinity. His main results state how the strict transforms intersect the ``zone de rupture''.
