Cut-out sets and the Zipf law for fractal voids (Q857203)

The aim of this paper is (a) to extend the notion of cut-cut set for \(d>1\) to void regions of nonconstant shape and to establish the relation of the box dimension of the set to the Zipf law for voids, (b) to see in what sense and to what extent a general fractal can be considered as a cut-cut set of the voids found by an algorithmic method, (c) to indicate how to apply the author's conclusions to physical fractal structures.
