      A ring \(R\) is called uniquely clean if every element of \(R\) is uniquely the sum of a unit and an idempotent of \(R\). Let \(RG\) be the group ring of a group \(G\) over a ring \(R\). In this paper the authors prove the following main results: 1) If \(RG\) is a uniquely clean ring, then \(R\) is uniquely clean and \(G\) is a \(2\)-group; 2) If \(R\) is a uniquely clean ring and \(G\) is a locally finite \(2\)-group, then \(RG\) is uniquely clean; 3) If \(G\) is a solvable group, then \(RG\) is uniquely clean if and only if \(R\) is uniquely clean and \(G\) is a \(2\)-group.
