Impact oscillators arise when over the components of a vibrating system collide with rigid obstacles or with each other. Such systems with repeated impacts arise in a wide variety of engineering applications, particularly in mechanisms and machines with clearances or gaps. Bifurcation and chaos of vibratory systems with plastic impacts have been investigated in the articles [\textit{S.W. Shaw} and \textit{P. J. Holmes}, ``Periodically forced linear oscillator with impacts: chaos and long-period motions'', Phys. Rev. Left. 51, No. 8, 623--626 (1983); \textit{J. Xie}, ``The mathematical model for the impact hammer and global bifurcations'', Acta Mech. Sin. 29, No. 4, 456--463 (1997)], where the dynamics of one-degree-of-freedom impact hammer was presented by a one-dimensional map on a circle with description of its properties. The aim of the reviewed article is to focus attention periodic motions and global bifurcations in multi-degree-of-freedom vibratory systems with plastic impacts.
