Let \(k\) be a field, \(V\) be a \(k\)-vector space, \({\mathbb P}\) and \(E\) be respectively the projective space and the exterior algebra over \(V\). Consider the derived category \(\text{D}^{b}({\mathbb P})\) of bounded complexes of coherent sheaves over \({\mathbb P}\), and the category \(\overline{\text{gr}}(E)\) of finitely generated graded \(E\)-modules, modulo morphisms which factor through injective modules. Then the BGG correspondence [\textit{I. N. Bernšteĭn, I. M. Gel'fand} and \textit{S. I. Gel'fand}, Funktsional. Anal. i Prilozhen. 12, No. 3, 66--67 (1978; Zbl 0402.14005)] asserts that \(\text{D}^{b}({\mathbb P})\) is equivalent to \(\overline{\text{gr}}(E)\). The paper under review provides an analogous equivalence in the noncommutative setup. Let \(A\) be a connected \({\mathbb N}\)-graded noetherian \(k\)-algebra with \(\text{gldim}(A) \geq 2\), and assume that \(A\) is Koszul and AS regular. Then \(A\) has a Koszul dual \(A^{!}\) which is graded Frobenius. Further, let us consider the category \(\text{Gr}(A)\) of \({\mathbb Z}\)-graded left \(A\)-modules with graded morphisms. The role of the category of quasi-coherent sheaves on \({\mathbb P}\) is now played by the quotient category \(\text{QGr}(A)\) of \(\text{Gr}(A)\) by torsion modules. The new BGG correspondence establishes an equivalence of \(\text{D}^{b}(\text{QGr}(A))\), and \(\overline{\text{Gr}}(A^{!})\), the quotient of \({\text{Gr}}(A^{!})\) by morphisms which factor through injectives. The author then turns his attention to the relevant application of periodic injective resolutions of a finitely generated module \(M\) over \(A^{!}\) with finite Bass numbers. Based on an example by \textit{S. P. Smith} [Representation theory of algebras and related topics. Proc. workshop, Mexico City, 1994. CMS Conf. Proc. 19, 315--348 (1996; Zbl 0856.16009)], the author proves here that, for any integer \(n\), one can suitable choose \(A\) and \(M\) so that the minimal injective resolution is periodic of period \(n\), or even aperiodic. This behavior differs from the commutative case, where the resolution is periodic with period \(1\) by a result of \textit{D. Eisenbud} [J. Algebra 258, No. 1, 348--361 (2002; Zbl 1081.13005)]. The reason for this is that zero-dimensional objects are no longer invariant under twist in the noncommutative case.
