    The authors study nonnegative weak solutions of the singular parabolic equation \(u_t=u\Delta_pu-\gamma| \nabla u| ^p\) in \(\Omega\times(0,\infty)\) complemented by homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions and initial condition \(u(\cdot,0)=u_0\) in \(\Omega\). Here \(\Omega\) is a smooth bounded domain in \(\mathbb R^N\), \(\Delta_p\) denotes the \(p\)-Laplacian, \(p>1\), \(\gamma\geq0\) and \(u_0\) satisfies some integrability conditions. The authors show that the support of the solution is nonincreasing in time for \(t>0\) and they also estimate the time decay of the solution in \(L^2(\Omega)\) and \(L^\infty(\Omega)\).
