Consider the model equations \[ \begin{aligned} {dx\over dt}&= {1\over\varepsilon}[y- xy+ x(1-qx)],\\ {dy\over dt}&= -y- xy+ 2fz,\\ {dz\over dt}&= \delta(x- z),\end{aligned}\tag{\(*\)} \] where \(\varepsilon\), \(q\), \(f\), \(\delta\) are positive parameters. Applying results from the theory of monotone systems, the authors derive a sufficient condition on the coefficients such that \((*)\) has at least one positive periodic solution. There is no comment on the biochemical relevance of the obtained result.
