The authors study the asymptotic stability of travelling wave front solutions with algebraic decay for the equation: \[ u_t= u_{xx}+ u^n(1- u),\quad n> 1 \] with \(n\) not necessarily an integer. By the detailed spectral analysis the authors consider travelling waves \(\phi_c(x- ct)\) with speed \(c> c_*(n)\). They prove that for each fixed \(\alpha\) satisfying \(0<\alpha< c\) the travelling waves are locally asymptotically stable to perturbations in weighted spaces \(C_\alpha(\mathbb{R})\). Furthermore, by the Evans function method and detailed semigroup estimates they prove that each travelling wave with non critical speed \(c> c_*(n)\) is locally algebraically stable to perturbations in some polynomially weighted space. It is shown that Evans function is also analytic in \(\lambda\) for \(\lambda\) near the boundary of and away from the essential spectrum of the linearized operator around the wave. The Evans function can be extended analytically in the neighbourhood of the origin.
