A classification of some regular \(p\)-groups and its applications. (Q862683)

The authors give a complete classification, in terms of generators and relators, of regular \(p\)-groups \(G\) that have the form \(G=\Omega_1(G)\langle g\rangle\) with \(|g|=p^e\) and \(|\Omega_1(G)|=p^4\), where \(p-3\geq e\geq 2\). (Another result is the classification of \(p\)-groups of order \(p^5\) and of exponent \(p\), which is not exactly new, as the authors point out.)
