The author has used Coulomb gas methods to derive an explicit form for the scaling limit of the partition function of the critical \(O(n)\) model on an annulus with free boundary conditions as a function of its modulus. Although the relevant explicit expression is not new, but a direct derivation from the lattice \(O(n)\) model solely using Coulomb gas arguments has appeared nowhere, and this is the point of this article. This approach gives new formulae for percolation and self-avoiding loops. Also the limit \(n\to\infty\) gives explicit examples of partition functions in logarithmic conformal field theory.
