A closed subspace \(Y\) of a Banach space \(X\) is proximinal in \(X\) if any \(x\in X\) has a best approximant \(y_x\) in \(Y\). \(Y\) is strongly proximinal in \(X\) if in addition the sets of near approximants has small diameter, i.e., if for each \(x\in X\) and \(\varepsilon>0\) there is a \(\delta > 0\) such that \(\sup\{d(z,y_x) : z \in Y, \| x-z\| < d(x,Y)+ \delta \}< \varepsilon\). The author shows that for any uniformly convex space \(X\), any \(C(K)\) module \(M \subset C(K,X)\) is proximinal in \(C(K,X)^{**}\). With the additional assumption that \(X\) is finite-dimensional, \(C(K,X)\) is proximinal in all the duals of even order. It is also shown that if \(\{X_\alpha\}\) is a family of uniformly convex spaces and \(X = \bigoplus_{c_0} X_\alpha\), then any finite co-dimensional proximinal subspace is strongly proximinal in all even order duals of \(X\).
