Let \(\mathbb{C}\) be the complex plane and \(D_r=\{z\in\mathbb{C}\mid |z|< r\}\). If \(X\), \(Y\) are topological (complex) spaces, let \(\mathbb{C}(X, Y)\) \((\mathbb{H}(X, Y))\) denote the space of continuous (holomorphic) maps from \(X\) into \(Y\) with the compact-open topology. For \(Y\) a topological space, let \(Y^\infty\) represent the one-point compactification of \(Y\) if \(Y\) is not compact, and \(Y\) itself if \(Y\) is compact. For \(M\) and \(Y\) complex spaces with \(\mathbb{F}\) a family of holomorphic maps in \(\mathbb{H}(M, Y)\), a map \(h\) in \(\mathbb{C}\,(\mathbb{C},Y^\infty)\) is called \(\mathbb{F}\)-limiting if there are sequences \(\{r_n\}\) increasing to \(\infty\) and \(\{f_n\circ\phi_n\}\) in \(\mathbb{F}\circ \mathbb{H}(D_{r_n}, M)\) such that \(h= \lim f_n\circ\phi_n\). The main theorem states that \(F\) is a uniformly normal family if and only if every \(\mathbb{F}\)-limiting curve is trivial. This main theorem can be viewed as an extension of the little Picard theorem and can be restated so as to see a theorem of Lohwater-Pommerenke as a special case. A number of other interesting extensions and connections of known results with the main theorem are explored.
