The authors deal with the initial value problem in \((x,t)\in\mathbb{R}/\lambda\mathbb{Z}\) \[ \partial_t u-\alpha(\partial^3_x u+ 6u\partial_x u)= 2\beta v\partial_x v, \] \[ \partial_t v+\partial^3_x v+ 3u\partial_x v= 0, \] \[ u(x,0)= \varphi(x),\quad v(x,0)= \psi(x), \] where \(\alpha,\beta\in \mathbb{R}\) and \(u= u(x,t)\), \(v= v(x,t)\) are real-valued functions, periodic in the space variable, with period \(\lambda\). The initial data \(\varphi\) and \(\psi\) are also real-valued and equally periodic. The authors, based on the Fourier transform restriction norm method, prove local and global well-posedness for initial data in Sobolev spaces with lower regularity.
