Let \(\mu\) and \(\nu\) be two measures on the same measure space, then \(\mu\) is absolutely continuous with respect to \(\nu\) if \(\mu(A) = 0\) for every set \(A\) for which \(\nu(A)= 0\). Two positive measures \(\mu\) and \(\nu\) defined on a measurable space \((X,\Sigma)\) are called singular if there exist two disjoint sets \(A\) and \(B\) in \(\sigma\)-algebra \(\Sigma\) whose union is \(X\) such that \(\mu\) is zero on all measurable subsets of \(B\) while \(\nu\) is zero on all measurable subsets of \(A\). The exploration of some properties of such measures has been studied by numerous publications. The present paper considers expansions of the form \(\sum_{i=1}^{\infty} {d_i}/{\beta^i}\), where the digits \((d_i)_{i \geq 1}\) are generated by means of a Borel map \(K_{\beta}\) defined on \(\{0,1\}^{N}\times \left[ 0, \lfloor \beta \rfloor /(\beta -1)\right]\). The authors show existence and uniqueness of an absolutely continuous \(K_{\beta}\)-invariant probability measure w.r.t. \(m_p \otimes \lambda\), where \(m_p\) is the Bernoulli measure on \(\{0,1\}^{N}\) with parameter \(p\) \(( 0 < p < 1)\) and \(\lambda\) is the normalized Lebesgue measure on \([0 ,\lfloor \beta \rfloor /(\beta -1)]\). They prove that the measure of maximal entropy and \(m_p \otimes \lambda\) are mutually singular. Also they answer a question concerning the number of universal expansions, a notion introduced by \textit{P. Erdős} and \textit{V. Komornik} [Acta Math. Hung. 79, No.~1/2, 57--83 (1998; Zbl 0906.11008)].
