The paper aims to rederive the well-known effective Landau-Lifshitz equation of motion for a spinless point-like charged particle in the external electromagnetic field, which takes into regard radiation loss. In the derivation, a key role is played by separation between field attached to and detached from the particle. The new derivation includes a change in the expression for the energy emission rate, which replaces the Larmor formula by a new expression. The applicability of the Maxwell tensor of the electromagnetic field is revised, too.
