This paper presents some properties for an extension of classical finite operator calculus of Gian-Carlo Rota (1932--1999), the so called \(\psi\)-calculus. The main definitions and theorems are exposed in the second part: the \(\psi\)-derivative \(\partial_{\psi}\), the generalized translation operator \(E^{y}(\partial_{\psi})\), the \(\partial_{\psi}\)-delta operator \(Q(\partial_{\psi})\), the \(\partial_{\psi}\)-basic polynomial sequence, the Pincherle \(\psi\)-derivative, the \(\psi\)-transfer formulas and the \(\psi\)-Rodrigues formula. The last part is a glossary of notations used by Ward, Viskov, Markowsky, Roman on one side and the Kwansniewski notations on the other side.
