There is a study in domain of dynamical systems, time-delay systems, specifically on probabilities of bifurcations from fixed points and the factors that determine these probabilities. Via the implicit functions theorem, dynamical systems at stable fixed points can be thought as linear maps. The Jacobians of these systems can be identified with random matrices. One concentrates on real random matrices with various distributions followed by a practical construction using neural networks with random weights.
