A sequence \(\{a_n\}\in \mathbb{R}_+^\mathbb{N}\) is called Liouville if, for every \(\{c_n\}\in \mathbb{N}^\mathbb{N}\), the sum \(\sum_{n=1}^\infty 1/(a_nc_n)\) is a Liouville number. Two sufficient criteria for sequences \(\{a_n\}\) to be Liouville can be found in [\textit{J. Hančl}, Nagoya Math. J. 172, 173--187 (2003; Zbl 1056.11043)]. In the present note, the authors give two sufficient criteria for sequences \(\{a_n\}, \{b_n\}\in \mathbb{N}^\mathbb{N}\) such that \(\sum_{n=1}^\infty b_n/a_n\) is a Liouville number. The first one reads as follows. Suppose \(\limsup_{n\rightarrow\infty}\log(a_{n+1}/b_{n+1})/ \log(a_1\cdots a_n) =\infty\) and assume that, for every real \(\delta\in ]0,1[\), one has \((a_{n+1}/b_{n+1})^\delta \geq (a_n/b_n)^\delta +1\) for all integers \(n\geq n_0(\delta)\). The second one is a rather technical generalization. Remark: The reviewer has some doubts that it `is relatively easy to prove that the number \(\sum_{n=1}^\infty 1/(n!)^n\) is Liouville'.
