The authors study surfaces with vanishing (generalised) Pick invariant in \(\mathbb R^3\). Note that by the classical Pick-Berwald theorem, non trivial surfaces with the above property are necessarily indefinite. Here the generalised Pick invariant is defined as the norm of the tracefree cubic form, which was first introduced by \textit{U. Simon} [Proc. Conf., Brno/Czech. 1986, Math. Appl., East Eur. Ser. 27, 315--327 (1987; Zbl 0633.53012)]. Note that this cubic form does not depend on the chosen normalisation. Consequently, also the vanishing of its norm is independent of the chosen normalisation. In order to study such surfaces in more detail the author uses the socalled centroaffine normalisation. The author obtains a classification of such surfaces, which is explicit except for case (iv) of Theorem 3.1. In the final part of the paper the authors impose additional centroaffine conditions (flat centroaffine metric, centraoffine extrema, centroaffine Chebyshev) and obtains a complete classification
