Let \(X\) be a nonzero complex reflexive Banach space. Consider a \textit{double triangle subspace lattice on \(X\)}, that is, a set \({\mathcal D} = \{\{0\}, K, L, M, X\}\) of closed subspaces of X satisfying \(K\cap L = L\cap M = M \cap K= \{0\}\) and \(\overline{K+L} = \overline{L+M} = \overline{M+K}= X\). Suppose that \({\mathcal D}\) is \textit{strongly} so, in the sense that furthermore \(K+L\), say, is closed. Let \(\mathop{\fam0 Alg}{\mathcal D}\) be the algebra of all operators on \(X\) that leave every element of \(\mathcal D\) invariant. The authors address two questions. 1. Recall that an element \(s\) of an algebra \(A\) is \textit{single} if \(asb=0\) implies \(as=0\) or \(sb=0\). They characterise the nonzero single elements of \(\mathop{\fam0 Alg}{\mathcal D}\) by having rank two. 2. Recall that an algebraic isomorphism \(\varphi\) between two closed subalgebras \(A\) and \(B\) of the algebras of operators on Banach spaces \(X\) and \(Y\), respectively, is \textit{quasi-spatial} if there is a closed injective densely defined operator \(S\) from \(X\) to \(Y\) whose range is dense, such that \(\varphi(a)Sx=Sax\) for all \(a\) in \(A\) and \(x\) in the domain of \(S\). The argument of Corollary 3.2 of the present article shows that a quasi-spatial algebraic isomorphism is automatically continuous. The authors prove that if \(A=\mathop{\fam0 Alg}{\mathcal D}\) and \(B=\mathop{\fam0 Alg}{\mathcal E}\) with \({\mathcal D}\) and \({\mathcal E}\) two strongly double triangle subspace lattices, then every algebraic isomorphism between \(A\) and \(B\) is quasi-spatial.
