The dynamics of the following mathematical model of chemotaxis \[ \partial_t p = \partial_x ( \partial_x p - p \partial_x \log{w}), \qquad \partial_t w = (p-\mu)w, \] for \(t>0\) and \(x\in (0,1)\) is investigated when \(p\) and \(w\) satisfy homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions. On one hand, several explicit solutions, either global in time or blowing up in a finite time, are already available for this system and an alternative derivation of these explicit solutions is given. On the other hand, given \(\alpha>0\) and \(\beta>0\), the stability of the explicit solution \(( \alpha, \beta e^{(\alpha-\mu)t})\) is studied and both stable and unstable manifolds are constructed.
