The authors extend the results of their previous article [``Shock wave cosmology inside a black hole'', Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. 100, No. 20, 11216--11218 (2003; Zbl 1064.83041)], in which a new cosmological model arised inside the horizon of a Schwarzschild black hole. Here they examine how the finite mass shock wave cosmology could connect up with Guth's original theory of inflation. A large list of references will add to the quality of the article, the reviewer thinks.
