Let \(E\subset \mathbb{C}\) be a compact set with connected complement \( \Omega = \overline{\mathbb{C}}\backslash E.\) By the uniformization theorem there exist a unique number \(r=r(E)\geq 0\) and a unique normalized universal covering map \( g: \overline{\mathbb{C}}\backslash \{w \leq r\} \rightarrow \Omega \) that has a Laurent expansion at infinity of the following form: \(g(w)=w+\sum _{k=0}^{\infty}b_k w^{-k}.\) Faber polynomials \(F_k\) associated with \(E\) are defined by the generating function \[ \frac{g'(w)}{g(w)-z}=\sum_{k=0}^{\infty}\frac{F_k(z)}{w^{k+1}}. \] The paper continues the investigation of Kuijlaars and Saff on zeros of Faber polynomials. The author considers normalized derivatives of Faber polynomials \( P_k=(F_{k+1})'/(k+1)\) for \(k=0,1,2,\ldots\) and studies asymptotic behavior of their normalized zero counting measures \(\mu_k = (2\pi k)^{-1}\triangle (\log | P_k| ).\) In particular it is proved that if \(E\) has empty interior that \(\{\mu _k \}\) converges in the weak-star topology to the probability measure \( \mu (z)=\frac{1}{2\pi}\triangle \log \delta (z),\) where \(\delta (z)=\text{lim}\sup _{k \to \infty}| P_k(z)| ^{\frac{1}{k}},\) and the support of \(\mu\) is the boundary of \(g(D),\) where \(D\) is the Dirichlet domain associated with \(g\) and centered at \(\infty.\)
