The authors study the following Kirchhoff-Boussinesq model for a plate: \(w_{tt}+kw_t + \Delta^2w = \text{div} [f_0(\nabla w)] + \Delta [f_1(w)] - f_2(w)\) on a bounded domain in the plain. Under appropriate conditions on the parameters and functions in the equation and initial and boundary conditions, they prove well-posedness of finite energy solutions and the existence of a weakly compact global attractor.
