This paper contains results concerning the solid hull of various spaces of analytic functions. Let \(H^p\), \(0< p\leq\infty\), be the usual Hardy spaces on the unit disc of the complex plane, and \(A^p\), \(0< p<\infty\), be the usual Bergmann spaces: \(\| f\|^p_{A^p}= \int_U|f(z)|^p dm(z)<\infty\), on the unit disc. Let \(X\) be a sequence space, then \(X\) is solid if \(\{b_n\}\in X\) whenever \(\{a_n\}\in X\) and \(|b_n|\leq|a_n|\); the solid hull of \(X= S(X))= \{\{\lambda_n\}\): there is \(\{a_n\}\in X\) with \(|\lambda|\leq |a_n|\}\). Spaces of analytic functions are identified with the sequence space of their Taylor coefficients. Some last definitions: a sequence \(\{a_n\}\) is of class \(\ell(p,q)\), \(0< p,\,q\leq\infty\) if \[ \|\{a_n\}\|^q_{p,q}= \sum^\infty_{n=0} \Biggl(\sum_{k\in I_n} |a_k|^p\Biggr)^{q/p}< \infty, \] where \(I_0= \{0\}\), \(I_n= \{k\in N: 2^{n-1}\leq k< 2^n\}\), \(n= 1,2,\dots\)\ . For \(t\in\mathbb{R}\), \(D^t= \{(n+ 1)^t\}^\infty_0\). If \(\lambda= \{\lambda_n\}\) is a sequence and \(X\) a sequence space, \(\lambda X= \{\lambda_n x_n: \{x_n\}\in X\}\). The authors prove the following Theorem 1: If \(0< p< 1\), then \(S(H^p)= D^{1/p-1}\ell(\infty, p)\). Theorem 2: If \(0< p\leq 1\), then \(S(A^p)= D^{2/p-1}\ell(\infty,p)\). A similar result is obtained for mixed norm squares, and the authors use their results to answer a conjecture of Anderson and Shields and derive various multiplier results.
