The authors give in this paper the following examples for finite groups that are not active sums of cyclic subgroups [for part I cf. the authors, Rev. Mat. Complut. 17, No. 2, 287-319 (2004; Zbl 1069.20046)]: The alternating groups \(A_n\) for \(n\geq 4\), some projective linear groups, and \(p\)-groups in which the normalizer and the centralizer of every element coincide. These examples of \(p\)-groups also provide groups that are not molecular.
