For \(\alpha, \beta\in\mathbb R\), \(\alpha\geq\beta\geq-1/2\) and \(\alpha\neq-1/2\), the Jacobi-Dunkl operator \(\Lambda_{\alpha,\beta}\) is defined by \[ \Lambda_{\alpha,\beta}f(x)=f'(x)+[(2\alpha+1)\coth x+(2\beta+1)\tanh x] \Big(\frac{f(x)-f(-x)}{2}\Big). \] Let \(\Psi_\lambda^{\alpha,\beta}\), \(\lambda\in\mathbb C\), be the eigenfunction of \(\Lambda_{\alpha,\beta}\) with eigenvalue \(i\lambda\) and satisfying \(\Psi_\lambda^{\alpha,\beta}(0)=1\). Then \(\Psi_\lambda^{\alpha,\beta}\) is related with the Jacobi function \(\varphi_\lambda^{\alpha,\beta}\) as \[ \Psi_\lambda^{\alpha,\beta}=\varphi_\lambda^{\alpha,\beta} +i\frac{\lambda}{2(\alpha+1)}\sinh x\cosh x\varphi_{\mu}^{\alpha+1,\beta+1}(x), \] where \(\lambda^2=\mu^2+\rho^2\) and \(\rho=\alpha+\beta+1\). The authors deduce a product formula of \(\Psi_\lambda^{\alpha,\beta}\): \[ \Psi_\lambda^{\alpha,\beta}(x)\Psi_\lambda^{\alpha,\beta}(y) =\int_{\mathbb R}\Psi_\lambda^{\alpha,\beta}(u)\,d\mu_{x,y}^{\alpha,\beta}(u). \] In order to determine the explicit form of \(d\mu_{x,y}^{\alpha,\beta}(u)\), they use the product formula and additional formula for the Jacobi functions and follows the argument used by \textit{M. Rösler} [Bessel-type signed hypergroups on \(R\). Probability measures on groups and related structures, XI (Oberwolfach, 1994), 292--304 (1995; Zbl 0908.43005)] for modified Bessel functions. As applications of this formula, they obtain some properties of the convolution product on the Jacobi-Dunkl signed hypergroup.
