Let \(\mathfrak{g}\) be an affine Kac-Moody algebra with associated quantum group \(U_q'(\mathfrak{g})\). Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules are certain well-behaved finite-dimensional \(U_q'(\mathfrak{g})\)-modules that hold a lot of promise to be fundamental in the representation theory of quantum affine algebras, although their existence has not yet been established in all cases. On the other hand, for \(U_q(\mathfrak{g})\), one can construct Demazure modules, which do exist and have crystal structure. A number of recent investigations have centered around establishing identities between Demazure modules and Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules, on both the module and crystal levels. In this paper, the authors, granted certain technical assumptions on the Kirillov-Reshetikhin side (including existence), show that the classical isomorphism from Demazure crystals to Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals extends to an affine crystal isomorphism sending zero arrows to zeero arrows, thereby showing that the affine crystal structure for the Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals is unique. The authors expect that the conditions required of the Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals will be generally satisfied if their existence can be proven.
