In this paper, the authors extend the theory of ordered semigroups to ``fuzzy'' ordered semigroups. The authors first introduce the concept of fuzzy interior ideals of an ordered semigroup \(S,\) and then prove that for an ordered semigroup \(S,\) a set \(A\) is an interior ideal of \(S\) if and only if the characteristic function \(f_{A}\) is a fuzzy interior ideal of \(S.\) Moreover, the authors also prove that in regular and in intra-regular ordered semigroups the concepts of fuzzy ideals and of fuzzy interior ideals are the same concepts. In Section 3, the authors introduce the notion of a fuzzy simple ordered semigroup, and show that an ordered semigroup is simple if and only if it is fuzzy simple. Furthermore, the authors characterize the simple ordered semigroups in terms of fuzzy interior ideals, that is, an ordered semigroup \(S\) is simple if and only if every fuzzy interior ideal of \(S\) is a constant function.
