Nonstationary, continuous-time chaotic dynamical systems with single constant point delay in the state variables are considered. First stabilization by linear stationary state variable feedback with single point delay controller is proposed and detailed analyzed. Next, using theoretical results taken from mathematical control theory efficient computational algorithm for design method is presented. Finally, an illustrative numerical example together with simulation results is given. Moreover, many remarks and comments on stabilization problems for delayed control systems are given. It should be pointed out that similar stabilization problems have been considered in the paper [\textit{G. Chen} and \textit{X. Yu}, On time-delayed feedback control of chaotic systems, IEEE Trans. Circuits Syst., I, Fundam. Theory Appl. 46, No.~6, 767--772 (1999; Zbl 0951.93034)].
