Let \(\Omega\subset\mathbb R^N\) be a bounded domain with smooth boundary. This paper is devoted to the study of the semilinear equation \(-\Delta u+\alpha u=\lambda u+q(x,u)\) in \(\Omega\), subject to the Neumann boundary condition \(\partial u/\partial\nu =0\) on \(\partial\Omega\), where \(\alpha\) is a positive number, \(\lambda\) is an eigenvalue of the linear operator \(-\Delta +\alpha\), and \(q(x,u)\) is a smooth nonlinearity satisfying strong resonance assumptions. Using standard variational tools related to Morse's critical point theory, the author establishes several existence and multiplicity results. There are analyzed not only positive or negative solutions, but also nodal (that is, sign-changing) solutions.
