Let \(n\geq 2\), \(c_n=(2\pi)^n\), \(\langle{x},\xi\rangle=x\cdot\xi\) and \(P(\xi)\) is a real polynomial, and \(a(\xi)\) is a symbol function, i.e., \(a\in{\mathcal S}^{\mu}(\mathbb R^n)\) for some \(\mu\in \mathbb R\). Define the multidimensional oscillatory integral \[ I(x)=c_n\int_{\mathbb R^n}e^{i(\langle{x},\xi\rangle+p(\xi))}a(\xi)\,d\xi, \quad x\in{\mathbb R^n}. \] The author first establishes some pointwise estimates for \(I(x)\), and then uses such estimates to establish \(L^p\)-\(L^q\) estimates for a class of dispersive equations of the form \(D_tu-P(D_x)u=0\), where \(D_t=-i\partial_t\), \(D_x=-i\nabla_x\), and \(P(D_x)\) is a partial differential operator whose symbol \(P(\xi)\) \((\xi\in\mathbb R^n)\) is an inhomogeneous real nondegenerate elliptic polynomial. These estimates improve and extend some known results in the related topics. Tools used to obtain such results are the Van der Corput lemma, integration by parts, Young's inequality and interpolation theory.
