    For \(d, n\in \mathbb N\) let \(m(\xi)\in L^\infty(\mathbb R^{dn})\) be smooth away from the origin and satisfying \(| \partial ^\alpha m(\xi)| \leq C| \xi| ^{-| \alpha| }\) for sufficiently many multi-indices \(\alpha\). Denote by \(T_m\) the \(n\)-linear operator (\(n\)-linear Fourier multiplier) defined by \[ T_m(f_1,\ldots, f_n)(x)=\int_{(\mathbb R^d)^n}m(\xi)\widehat f_1(\xi_1)\cdots \widehat f_n(\xi_n)e^{2\pi ix\cdot(\xi_1+\cdots+\xi_n)}\,d\xi_1\cdots d\xi_n. \] Then, it is known that \(T_m\) maps \(L^{p_1}(\mathbb R^d)\times\cdots\times L^{p_n}(\mathbb R^d)\) \(\to\) \(L^p(\mathbb R^d)\) boundedly, if \(1<p_1,\ldots, p_n\leq \infty\), \(\frac{1}{p_1}+\cdots+\frac{1}{p_n}=\frac1p\) and \(0<p<\infty\) [\textit{R. R. Coifman} and \textit{Y. Meyer}, ``Ondelettes et opérateurs III: Opérateurs multilinéaires'', Actualités Mathématiques. Paris: Hermann, 383--532 (1991; Zbl 0745.42012); \textit{C. E. Kenig} and \textit{E. M. Stein}, Math. Res. Lett. 6, No.~1, 1--15 (1999; Zbl 0952.42005) and \textit{L. Grafakos} and \textit{R. H. Torres}, Adv. Math. 165, No.~1, 124--164 (2002; Zbl 1032.42020)]. The authors weaken the condition on \(m(\xi)\). Their result is as follows: For \(\xi_1=(\xi_1^i)_{i=1}^d,\ldots, \xi_n=(\xi_1^i)_{i=1}^d\in \mathbb R^d\), let \({\overline\xi}_1=(\xi_j^1)_{j=1}^n,\ldots,{\overline \xi}_d=(\xi_j^d)_{j=1}^n\). Let \(m(\xi)=m(\overline \xi)\in L^\infty(\mathbb R^{nd})\) be smooth away from the subspaces \(\{\overline {\xi}_1=0\}\cup\cdots\cup \{\overline {\xi}_d=0\}\) and satisfying \(| \partial _{\overline \xi_1}^{\alpha_1}\cdots \partial _{\overline \xi_d}^{\alpha_d} m(\overline \xi)| \leq C\prod_{i=1}^{d}| \overline \xi_i| ^{-| \alpha_i| }\) for sufficiently many multi-indices \(\alpha_1,\ldots,\alpha_d\). Then \(T_m\) maps \[ L^{p_1}(\mathbb R^d)\times\cdots\times L^{p_n}(\mathbb R^d)\to L^p(\mathbb R^d) \] boundedly, if \(1<p_1,\ldots, p_n\leq \infty\), \(\frac{1}{p_1}+\cdots +\frac{1}{p_n}=\frac1p\) and \(0<p<\infty\). This is a continuation of the authors' result for \(d=2\) [Acta Math. 193, No. 2, 269--296 (2004; Zbl 1087.42016)].
