    In this work the authors study nonlinear parabolic equations of the form: \[ \partial_t u - \text{div}(\sigma(| \nabla u| ^2\, \nabla u)) + g(x,u) = f(x), \;\;x\in\Omega,\;\;t>0, \] \[ u(x,0)= u_0(x),\;\;x\in\Omega,\;\;\; u| _{\partial\Omega}=0,\;t>0. \] where \(\sigma(v^2)=| v| ^m\), \(m \geq 0\) and \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^N\), with smooth boundary, say, \(\partial \Omega \in C^2\). The difficulty arises from the fact that \(g(x,u)\) represents general nonlinear terms, including oscillatory ones e.g., \(g(x,u) = a(x) (| u| ^{\alpha}u-| u| ^{\beta}u)\), \(a(x) \geq 0\), \(\alpha,\, \beta >0\) or \(g(x,u) = a(x) (u-\sin(| u| ^{\beta}u))\). For these types of nonlinearities the standard procedure, based on global Lipschitz continuity, is not applicable. To overcome this the authors use extensively Moser's technique. Then, they are able to prove the existence of a global attractor \(\mathcal{A}\) in \(L^q (\Omega)\), \(q > \max{1,(r-m)N/(m+2)}\), where \(r\geq 0\) is a certain exponent depending on the nonlinearity. Actually, \(\mathcal{A}\) is a bounded set in \(W_0^{1,m+2} (\Omega) \cap L^{\infty} (\Omega)\) and independent of \(q\). Some estimates on the size and attracting properties of \(\mathcal{A}\) are also given. Finally, the regularity of \(\mathcal{A}\) is established i.e. \(\mathcal{A}\) is a bounded set in \(W_0^{1,\infty} (\Omega)\), under an additional regularity assumption on \(f(x)\).
