A survey of the contributions of Aldo Cossu (1922--2005) in finite geometry is given. Particular emphasis is placed on Cossu's proof of the Segre theorem, and on the non-existence of a \(\{21,3\}\)-arc in \(\text{PG}(2,9)\).
