The authors study the motion in an elastic vessel (for instance an artery) in a viscous incompressible fluid (for instance blood). The model consists of the hydrodynamical Navier-Stokes equations and elastic equations with a simple algebraic relationship: the displacement of the vessel wall is proportional to the normal component of the applied external stresses. An existence theorem is proved for the fluid circulation in the elastic domain. A comparison with the previous work shows the novelty of the results.
