The author considers a system of ODE's in \(5\) variables having \(3\) conserved quantities \(F_{1},F_{2},F_{3}\). A Poisson bracket is presented, with respect to which \(F_{3}\) is a Casimir, \(F_{1}\) and \(F_{2}\) are in involution, and such that \(F_{1}\) is the Hamiltonian for the given system. Thus the system introduced is completely integrable. The author then proves that the pair of commuting flows on the level sets, which are affine complex surfaces of the form \(F_{i}=c_{i}\) in \(\mathbb{C}^{5}\) for generic values of \(c_{i}\) for \(i=1,2,3\) can be extended to a pair flows on an Abelian variety compactifying the corresponding surface. The compactification is carried out explicitly in a way to ensure that the pair of flows remain independent also on the compactifying divisor, and the result is a family of Abelian surfaces embedded in \(\mathbb{P}^{15}\). This implies that the system is algebraically completely integrable. In the last section of the paper, the author obtains a system considered in \textit{B. Grammaticos, A. Ramani} and \textit{B. Dorizzi} [J. Math. Phys. 24, 2289--2295 (1983; Zbl 0547.70017)] as a special case of the former system, and shows that the corresponding invariant variety is a ramified cyclic cover of the Abelian variety constructed. The new surface is proven to be of general type. The paper ends with two appendices. The first appendix collects the facts used about algebraic surfaces, and in particular about Abelian surfaces, in the paper. The second appendix contains an brief exposition of Hamiltonian systems, Poisson brackets, and algebraically completely integrable systems. The matrix \(J\) on the bottom of page 97 that is used to define the Poisson stucture contains some typos: the \((3,5)\) entry should read \(2z_{1}z_{2}\), the \((3,4)\) entry should read \(2z_{5}+4z_{1}z_{2}^{2}\), and the \((5,3)\) and \((4,3)\) entries should be changed accordingly.
