Let \(E\) be a a real Banach space with dual \(E^*\) and let \(J:E\rightarrow 2^{E^*}\) be the normalized duality map. A mapping \(T:D(T)\subset E\rightarrow E\) is said to be generalized Lipschitz if there exists \(L>0\) such that \[ \left\| Tx-Ty\right\| \leq L (1+\left\| x-y\right\| )\,\,\forall x,y\in D(T). \] The mapping \(T\) is called pseudo-contractive if for all \(x,y\in D(T)\), there exists \(j(x-y)\in J(x-y)\) such that \[ \left\langle Tx-Ty,j(x-y)\right\rangle \leq \left\| x-y\right\| ^2. \] \(T\) is called generalized \(\Phi\)-hemi-contractive if there exists a strictly increasing function \(\Phi: [0,\infty) \rightarrow [0,\infty)\) with \(\Phi(0)=0\) such that for all \(x\in D(T),\,x^*\in F(T)\), there exists \(j(x-x^*)\in J(x-x^*)\) such that \[ \left\langle Tx-x^*,j(x-x^*)\right\rangle \leq \left\| x-x^*\right\| ^2-\Phi(\left\| x-x^*\right\| ). \] The authors introduce a new perturbed Mann type iterative method \(\{x_n\}\) defined by \[ x_{n+1}=(1-\lambda_n \alpha_n)x_n+\lambda_n\alpha_nTx_n-\lambda_n \theta_n (x_n-x_1),\;n\geq 1, \] where \(\lambda_n, \alpha_n, \theta_n\) are real sequences in \((0,1)\) satisfying appropriate conditions. The main results of the paper are some convergence theorems for approximating fixed points of \(T\) in reflexive Banach spaces with uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm by means of the above iterative method. \(T\) is assumed to be generalized Lipschitz pseudo-contractive (Theorem~8) and generalized Lipschitz hemi-contractive (Theorem~11), respectively. Some convergence theorems for approximating zeros of accretive type operators are also obtained.
