    Let \(G\) be a simply connected bounded Jordan domain in the complex plane \(\mathbb{C}\). Let \(E_{\infty}(G)\) denote the space of bounded analytic functions \(f\) on \(G\) endowed with the supremum norm \(\| .\| _{\infty}\), and let \(C_A(\overline{G})\) denote the subspace of \(E_{\infty}(G)\) of all functions with continuous extension to the closure \(\overline{G}\) of \(G\). For \(h=f-g\), with \(f \in E_{\infty}(G)\) and g rational with all poles in \(G\), we set \(\| h\| _M:=\sup_{x \in \partial G} (\text{ lim \;sup}_{z\in G \rightarrow x} | h(x)| )\). Danchenko proved in 1990 that \[ \| f\| _{\infty} \leq 51 m \| f-g_m\| _M, \] if \(f \in E_{\infty}(G)\) and \(g_m\) is a rational function of degree less or equal \(m\) and poles in \(G\) only. Imposing additional assumptions on the domain \(G\) the author improves Danchenko's result.
