The retraction constant and the minimal displacement characteristic of some Banach spaces (Q881607)

Let \(X\) be a Banach space with the unit sphere \(S\) and the unit ball \(B\). The retraction constant \(k_0(X)\) is the smallest number \(k\) such that there is a \(k\)-Lipschitzian retraction \(R:B\to S\). The authors provide some improved upper estimates of the retraction constant of certain Banach spaces.
