Vanishing of the top Chern classes of the moduli of vector bundles (Q881953)

The paper under review proves a vanishing theorem of top Chern classes of moduli spaces of stable bundles of rank 3 on curves. The authors also provide an alternative construction of degeneration of moduli spaces without using of GIT. It also contains the construction of normalization of the degeneration. The proof of their vanishing theorem is based on the detailed study of the variations of the moduli spaces.
