Recall that a \(\mathbb{Q}\)-homology plane is a smooth \(\mathbb{Q}\)-acyclic complex algebraic surface. The present article is a supplement to the works [\textit{T.~Kishimoto, H.~Kojima}, Transform. Groups 11, 4, 659--672 (2006; Zbl 1118.14064)] and [\textit{R. V. Gurjar, K. Masuda, M. Miyanishi} and \textit{P. Russell}, Can. J. Math. 60, No. 1, 109--139 (2008; Zbl 1137.14049)] devoted to the study of affine lines, i.e. smooth curves isomorphic to \(\mathbb{A}^1\), or, more generally, of homology lines, i.e. irreducible affine curves with Euler characteristic equals one, on \(\mathbb{Q}\)-homology planes. The main idea is to involve \(\mathbb{C}_+\)- and \(\mathbb{C}^*\)-actions on surfaces in order to strengthen certain results in [loc. cit]. A description of homology lines \(\Gamma\) on a \(\mathbb{Q}\)-homology plane \(X\) is given in terms of logarithmic Kodaira dimensions of \(X\) and of the complement \(X\setminus \Gamma\).
