In this paper sufficient conditions are given that insure the existence of an almost periodic solution to the system of delay differential equations \[ u'(t)=-D(t)u(t)+A(t)g(u(t))+H(t,u_t)+I(t),\tag{1} \] where \(u(t)\in\mathbb R^n, t\in\mathbb R, D(t)\) and \(A(t)\) are diagonal \(n\times n\) matrices almost periodic (a.p.) in \(t, I(t)=(I(t),\dots I_n(t)^T, I_i(t)\) a.p. in \(t\) for \(i=1,\dots,n\), \(u_t=u(t+s)\), \(s\leq 0\), \(g(u)\in\mathbb R^n\) for \(u\in \mathbb R^n\) is continuous and bounded on \(\mathbb R^n\), and \(H(t,u_t)=(H_1(t,u_t), H_2(t,u_t),\dots H_n(t,u_t))\), with \[ H_i(t,u_t)= \int_0^{\infty}\sum_{j=1}^n k_{ij}(t)f_j(u_j(t-\tau_{ij}(t)-s)\,dK_{ij}(t,s),\quad i=1,2,\dots, n, \] in which \(\tau_{ij}(t)\) and \(k_{ij}(t)\) are a.p. in \(t\), \(\tau_{ij}(t)\geq0\) for \(t\in \mathbb R\), and \(s\to dK_{ij}(t,s)\) is a Lebesgue Stieltjes measure that is a.p. in \(t\). The significant part of these very complicated conditions is that the entries of \(D(t)\) be positive and sufficiently large. Moreover, the conditions also are sufficient to insure that the a.p. solution \(u(t)\) is unique and exponentially attracts all other solutions as \(t\rightarrow\infty\). This result generalizes similar results for other special cases of (1) and has applications in modeling the interactions in cellular neural networks.
