Let \(\mathbb{E}\) be a complex Banach space and let \(B(\mathbb{E})\) be the set of all bounded linear operators mapping \(\mathbb{E}\) into itself. Let \(L_p= L_p(\mathbb{R}^n,\mathbb{E})\), \(1\leq p\leq\infty\), be the Banach space of classes of a.e.\ coinciding Bochner measurable functions \(x: \mathbb{R}^n\to\mathbb{E}\) (with the standard norm). Let \(\mathbb{S}\subseteq\mathbb{R}^n\) be a cone such that \(\mathbb{S}-\mathbb{S}= \mathbb{R}^n\). A bounded linear operator \(T: L_p\to L_p\) is said to be causal if for any \(x\in L_p\) and any open set \(W\subseteq \mathbb{R}^n\), the implication \(x(s)= 0\) \(\forall s\in W-\mathbb{S} \Rightarrow (Tx)(s)= 0\) \(\forall s\in W-\mathbb{S}\) holds. A~casual operator \(T\) is said to be causally invertible if its inverse \(T^{-1}\) exists and is causal. The author describes the causal spectrum of the operator \(T= D+ G\) in \(L_p\), where \[ ((D+ G)x)(t)= \sum^\infty_{n=1} a_n x(t- t_n)+ \int_{\mathbb{S}} g(s) x(t- s)\,ds\quad (t\in\mathbb{R}^n), \] \(t_n\in \mathbb{S}\), \(\alpha_n\in B(\mathbb{E})\) and \(g\in L_1(\mathbb{S},B(\mathbb{E}))\). A sketch of the proof is given.
