Monotonic solutions of a quadratic integral equation of fractional order (Q884384)

The authors indicate an error made in the proof of the main result of the paper by \textit{M. A. Darwish} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 311, 112--119 (2005; Zbl 1080.45004)]. That result is concerned with the existence of nondecreasing solutions of a quadratic integral equation of the so-called fractional order. Moreover, the authors provide the correct proof of a slightly modified version of the mentioned result. The main tool used in the reviewed paper is the technique associated with the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness.
